VP Singh walking in the garden at his residence, with a lone follower
There is something to be said about the solitude that comes with the post of the Prime Minister, especially when your path to the position is one of coalitions, compromise and not many that truly believe in you. I’m sure that feeling is amplified when it seems almost like the entire country is falling apart as soon as you took office.
The date of this image is not explicitly mentioned in the source, however other dated images from the same collection are from 1989. It is also difficult to tell if this image is before or after VP Singh became Prime Minister, however, I’d like to imagine that there were many such walks during his short and tumultuous term.
