Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited’s Hardiwar plant, was considered a backbone of India’s power sector, for it’s work in the production of turbines and generators. It was established in the late 60s, with technical support from the USSR, as was the case with a large portion of India’s nascent industrial sector.
“This plant manufactures equipment as mighty in size and power as the sacred Ganga which flows through Haridwar town.”
